Can anybody tell me whats going on with my mpc 1000? Here is my problem: I just purchased it and I downloaded some new sound sets from a mpc sample website. After that, I tried to upload them into my mpc via usb. The problem I'm having is they don't work. The folder shows up in my memory card directory but when I press "do it" to load the sounds nothing happens. I know the sounds work because I can access them on my computer. I turned auto load off and tried just exclusively loading only my new sound set. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to get them to work?

Your computer can read MORE sound formats than your MPC can. On your PC right click on the sample/sound, go to properties and see what type of format that sample/sound is in.

They need to be 44k 16-bit WAVs, mono or stereo.
Also, when you say "nothing happens", what are you expecting to happen?
- did you get a *.PGM file with the samples, and is it in the same folder on the card?
- No PGM? Then did the WAVs actually load by themselves? Without the PGM file, they are not auto-assigned to a Program, you have to do that yourself. To see if they are loaded, go to Trim mode, see if the wheel lets you scroll through them. If so, you can follow the method for creating Programs and assigning samples.
- If they definitely didn't load, post a link, we can check them out. Loading a whole folder at a time definitely works, it really is as easy as it seems, if the WAVs are right.

when i say nothing happens i mean the file loads onto my mpc but the sounds dont. you know how if you load anything from the memory card the lcd displays all of the sounds individually as they are being loaded? what im saying is that it doesnt do that. the program folder shows up, but the sounds dont. i sent some of the sounds to lampdog to see if they work for him. so now my question is even though these are just drums that should load up the same way as the factory ones that came with the machine, can istill go to trim mode to program them in?

I mentioned trim mode as a way of checking they are loaded... you add them to a Program in Program mode.
I sometimes don't see the "loading" messages flash up when the samples are too small, they just flash by too quickly...

Try loading each sample by its self and create a prg and save the prg, it sounds like theres no prg. w/ those samples and your looking through your prgm page and cant find anything on the main menu.
Goodtimes...

yeah, it has to be the sound files themselves. ive loaded other drum kits and samples on there with no problem just to see if there was something wrong with the machine. it has to be the files. im going to try and load them individually though to see if they will work then like beyond hope suggested.
