I have an S5000 with USB and ADATcards. the adat is the shit if u have a system with adat but remember the S6k and S5k can both do 16 analogue outs also.
I go adat to my didigtal mixer and sometimes a small 8 track recorder i have.
the best part for me is the USB. not only does it transfer files (to hard drive, disk or memory. audio files, programs and multis) but also you can contect it to Ak.sys a program that controls your S5000 or S6000 through your mac or pc. get full mixer control, program editing and creating, track and sample editing with ur favourite editing program, etc much larger and easier to use than the sampler screen.
I found dual booting my mac with tiger 10.4.11 and latest akai S5000 drivers and latest version of Ak.sys is the most stable on mac no usb drop outs etc like 10.5, 10.6 etc
