Anyone use their MPC without the mains?

If so what sort of battery life do you get if using standard Duracell batteries?

I use mine when i'm out 'n' about all the time yea (i use mains power when i'm at home tho), if you don't then ur missing out on 1 of the major plus factors of the 500 (it's portability and ability to allow you to make beats anywhere, i made a beat at sum random graveyard yesterday).

ur best bet is to carry 2 sets of rechargeable batteries on you (12xs AA) and get a battery charger of course, put 6 charged batteries in the mpc b4 u go out and keep another 6 charged batteries on you. you should get about 4- 6hours life out of you'r 500 when running on some semi decent rechargeables, if you turn the backlight off!!!!!!!! (the backlight takes most of the power and will reduce battery life to about 20minutes, in daylight outside you will not need it so make shure it's off before you even turn the mpc500 on as its a serious drain.)

rechargeables don't have as long a battery life (hence the reason for carrying spares) but trust me it's the way forward kuz if you’re using the 500 on a daily basis you will save a good couple hundred pounds/dollars a year as iCd batteries can be recharged indefinitely and even a semi decent rechargeable battery can be charged 500 - 800 times.

rechargeable are the way forward, if ur using the 500 everyday u'll quickly figure out a cycle of recharging batteries so you always got at least 2 charged sets of batteries at any 1 time (i even charge mine at collage sometimes so i'm not even paying electricity for the charge lol).

PS if ur carrying the mpc500 around a lot and you have the extra ram chip installed

as jiggling the 500 around in ur bag misplaces it and causes the 500 to crash all the time, it's very annoying.

but thats my experience 'n' i've found kuz the 500 is portable i've made a lot more beats then i would of had it not of been portable.

haha i'm well into star wars that that'd be dope,

half the batteries are in the mpc so it aynt that bad yet and if i'm only usin headphones its only 12AAs half of which are in the mpc

but that being said it does get mad when i have my small portable speakers and guitar pedal for extra fx on the go (kuz i also carry spares for them plus a charger on me) my pouch of batteries is huge and heavy as fukkkk, pulling the threads on my rucksack or pocket to the brink of snapage,
but i get by even if the old lady at the bus stop thought i was a crazzy perv kuza my off key lukkin bulge in my pocket she kept giving me looks of discust so i did try and explain it was my sack of super charged battery juice which didnt go down to well at all.

I was thinking like some kind of prop replica. Until I clicked on your link I had totally forgotten Kenner made a strap for your action figures. I saw it once in 1983, between that and the Ewok Village set, I pretty much stopped collecting Star Wars.
