Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hi, I am just wondering if the MPC 500 has a multi pitch capability just like in the sp1200. I just want to know because I am still undecided if I will buy a MPC500 or just an ipad2 with intua beat maker2. Thanks.

You mean like pitch up and down like a turntable, yeah it can pitch tune your samples but the timestretch feature can be a little bastard.

However, the MPC1000 can pitch samples up and down and can change the key of the pitch with pitch-shift.

Thanks for the reply . What I meant is if the sample can be automatically pitched in the 12 buttons of the mpc500. For example if I sampled a piano containing 1 note then it will be automatically distributed to the 12 buttons in different rising pitches . So does it mean that the 12 buttons will -do -re -mi fa so la ti do re mi fa so (12 rising pitch). In the sp1200 it is possible , also in my yamaha su10, I am wondering if the mpc500 can do it.

Yes it can but its not chromatic, so a high pitched note will be a shorter length sample and a low pitched note will be longer. Just hit the pad and hit 12 Levels and the sample will be spread out across the pad at different pitches.
