aah that makes sense actually cause any incoming midi notes lower than 24 wouldn't retrigger pads because the pads dont respond to those numbers - i forgot how my own idea works then for a moment!
yeah definitely MIDI feedback.

by the way I've re-upped this video because youtube degraded the audio quality after i tried to adjust the colour contrast! here's the one with the better audio quality: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9waaCMDuIE

Apologies to those that have "liked" the video or commented on it. The original video is now unlisted on the original url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lk_pv5RXLpI

Hey, I'm away from my mpc so I can't test it, but what if you assigned the bottom four pads (or any four pads really) to switch banks and used simult pad to link your other pads with these? Could be a time saver...I'm also wondering if you could pull off any cool tricks by stacking multiple pads that sent midi commands with simult pad? I wonder if there is anything else musically useful to assign... I'll have to play with this later.

Thanks for sharing!

yeah man , the simult thing would work, i suppose it'll save time if you use the undo seq to copy the relevant simult pad across loads of pads. otherwise it would just be gpe>simult>assign to pad x Vs window on out note>change out note to note x

regarding the potential of simult i posted about mpc macros here back in april :

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=142497&hilit=macros

the things ive used it for are mainly for assigning track mutes/solos to pads or quicker navigation through the mpc when playing live. e.g you set up a pad to trigger a string of simult notes that helps you switch mpc settings or the highlighted field but yeah would be interesting to see what musical possibilities are there too.

One thing that has the potential to be even more powerful for this is the new pattern mode, ive tried it a little and it works beautifully for this type of thing. Im going to do a bit more experimenting and post some examples in a few days.

Not to be outdone, the round robin effect is possible on the MPC4000 which gets no love from JJ.

Thanks Mike for giving me something to do and share with the hungry folk rocking 'the beast' in the 4K forum.

Great vids by the way Mike, keep up the good work mate.

JUNGLE!

hand played jungle at that!

i'm off to accelerate the onset of my arthritis

word!

Great tip and great drumming indeed. props!

AS I always say time and time again, what I love about the MPC is that it makes you think outside the box and its limitations end up becoming its strengths... amazing!

Sooty_G wrote:JJ really needs to implement this in the os. not just round robin but also a random cycling thru of various sounds per pad.

maybe a good way to do this would be a feature that allows you to step thru this new pattern mode he's created with each pad hit.

.....

that's a pretty good solution.

I don't know what will make JJ implement round robin, maybe a petition? :)

that might be all it takes.

I posted a request (with a link to the topic) on his youtube channel a while ago. The response was that the request will be transmitted to JJ.
