Logic question (1st time user)

ps: where are all the effects and do you have to create seperate busses to apply them? everything seems so bloody complicated but I know it HAS to be some sort of hallucination....

Ok well I'm still on logic pro 8 for the record.

Honestly your issue could be caused by any number of things that would be difficult to diagnose from a distance. If I were you I would isolate each piece of gear, troubleshoot each independently to identify where the fault lies.

Connect your MPC main outputs direct to the audio interface while troubleshooting, bypassing the mixer. Ensure that you are using line level inputs and get the audio interface working properly. Get a stereo signal going into logic and tweak away to get things running smoothly. Don't bring the mixer back into the signal chain until the MPC and Logic are working together. Pay attention to your levels (volume) at each stage of the signal chain.

In relation to Logic audio tracks and effects, time is the key. You won't learn a new DAW overnight.
