yes it's possible, so keep trying.

i dont know how to set up fruity, but on the xl go into the midi/sync screen.
from there you should see the options to set up midi clock receive.

make sure you set both the xl and fruity to use midi clock. and choose the correct port on yer xl.

And yes, any MPC can be used as a controller.

In the video the MPC pads are being used to trigger sounds in Fruityloops.

Forget about master and slave for now, you are getting confused.

For you to achieve this you will need to connect the midi out from your MPC to the midi in on your Mbox2. On the main screen of the MPC you can route the midi from specific tracks to external devices. There will be some settings you will need to make in FL to enable you to trigger individual or multiple FL instruments simultaneously.

I'm not a FL user so I can't be more specific, but I have seen threads on setting this up.

Do a search for Fruityloops and see what comes up.

You will need either one or two midi cables depending on how you want things set up sync wise, but one will get you up and running.
