mpc 1000 recording problems!!!!??? help please

hey well i purchased an mpc 1000 (the blue kind) with a 128mb ram, jjos 3.9 and the pad upgrade. i don't know a whole lot about mpc's but it seemed like a good deal. so the problem is when i asighn drums to my pads they sound perfect, but when i record the drums, it sounds strange, almost as if it were to have some sort of efect on the whole pastern recorded (the drums sound really low like as if the volume was turned down dramatically)
ive been trying to figure out this problem for almost a month now and it is really geting on my nerves.
could it be the setings that are messed up? or would it be some thing wrong with one of the boards inside
anything sugestions would help a lot, thank you

what do you mean "when you assign drums to the pads"? do you mean in the LOAD screen, or after assigning them when playing the pads?

yea i go to my load menu then i go to my internal memory and i hit do it on the samples to asighn them to the pads, when everythings done i try them out on my pads and they sound perfect but after i hit the play and rec buton when the 2 bar patern is recorded and looped it sounds really dull and low on vollume and it dosent make that much of a difrence when i have my rec. volume set high then low. im begining to think its just the whole mpc that is messed up could that be the case? thank you

no, it's probably just mixer settings or something else causing it that can be turned off

i just messed with all the stings on the mixer menu and tuned every thing on, it still did nothing

anyone else has anny ideas?

Is the full level button on?

i think i know what you mean..

press (mode) + pad 11...
then the (out) tab, check the level is up around 100..

also make sure the velocity is up around 100% on the main screen.

Sounds like you just need to spend some time with the manual.

i tried several times recording with the full level buton on and of but it didnt work and i have spent a lot of time with the manual trust me... and thanks a lot! i think that just did it!

ok so it got beter but its still not sounding to its full potential the velocity is set to 100 % but heres were the tricky part comes in, i was plaing around with it and the mpc does not seem to do that if i hold the note repeat buton thrugh out the time that i am recording the 2 bars
