2000 classic CF Reader...

Sup y'all,

I got my external CF reader working today. I plugged in a 1gb CF card and formatted into 4 partitions.

2 questions:

1. I can only transfer about 20/25mbs of samples onto the card. Is that right???

2. I can only view one partition in XP...any way to view the other partitions???

I don't understand the question. I don't think there's the size limit other than MPC and FAT file system impose. You can import 16 bit 44.1KHz WAV as well.
MPC-2000 Classic cannot deal with file folders, so every data files will be on root directory.
(It was one of the main reason I sold my MPC-2000 classic, and bought 2000XL.)

No, as far as I know, there is no solution to access other partitions. I think the largest partition size you can make was around 800MB.

Other thing, you can hot-swap CF card on MPC-2000 classic (does not work on XL);
This is the procedures:
1. Go to load / save mode
2. Select F-ROM , even it is not installed
3. Swap CF card, while F-RAM is selected
4. Select the SCSI device (SCSI CF reader) again

I was trying to copy drum samples off my PC onto the CF card. I got about 25mb on until an error message came up saying :

(RED CIRCLE WITH WHITE CROSS) CANNOT COPY "FILE NAME": THE DIRECTORY OR FILE CANNOT BE CREATED

Make sure ALL the files are in DOS name format. Never use file names that are longer than 8 chars (for example, "FILENAME.SND" is good, "FILENAME1.SND" is too long)
I think there is maximum number of files you can copy on each partition (I think it is 256), I'm not sure though. Also make sure that there is no hidden files on the CF card.
