hey y'all.
lately i've noticed, that there's some strange things happening to my xl. writing 'strange' i mean i haven't got any issues like these before.
first of all - during last 2 months MP hanged up a few times. some of this hangs occured while machine was booting, some while working (overdubbing track, sampling, modifying parameters at program screen etc). another few times was a hang up with error, which was looking like some hexadecimal code, but I can't give any example right now. it occured while keeping sampled sound to memory (at recording screen) as far as I remember. i think it's normal, that MPC hangs up when I'm swapping zip disks (internal drive) too often, like when I'm looking for drums on different disks; after 5-6 swaps and trying to load something machine is freezing and there's nothing I can do. i've also noticed a few freezes of display. i was able to turn on or off full level for example, i was able to play or stop sequence, but there was no reaction of display.
finally - yesterday, when i was turning MP on after 2 hours of sampling with for about 30 minutes break (mpc was off during this 30 mins), all of leds blinked like they do normally, but display was dead. after quick reboot everything was ok. everything except strange noise on display (it was durating for milisecs). during 3rd reboot it looked normally.
that's the most common glitches of my machine. i'm asking you if it's normal, because I'm afraid my xl is passing out slowly. i'm smoking cigs in the room, where MPC's at - i've heard that it cuts life of electronical appliances. is it true? and are there any reasons for me to be worried? i'm owning my mpc for about 1,5 year and everything was ok before (maybe there were some hang ups from time to time).
