Mpc 5000 and external gear

Everytime I hit record on the 5 k it jacks up all the levels to the max on my my fantom and other modules ,1st time I've ever had this issue on a mpc .
It really becomes a hassle the more tracks you use and instruments you add
Us there axeay too stop it from raising the levels ?

You need to go into the mixer mode on your MPC to adjust the levels.

I'll just have to get more familiar with using the mixer mode
