Phono pre-amp

Hi there!

Does anyone knows the specifications of the phono preamp on the akai mpc 5000 ?

Do you beleive that with an external phono preamp there will be better results if I use MoningCoil (MC) cartridge and elliptical stylus ?

I can't say I have..... Sometimes I like to run my samples thru and old home stereo system. ( late 70's stuff) that's the only time I sample records without using the pre.
