MPC3000 makes annoying sound

When I push the display contrast my MPC3000 makes this annoying high pitched sound. When I turn off the display contrast, it makes no sound.

Anyone knows what could be the problem?

It could be the invertor, the headphone jack grounding issue or something more sinister.

There are a few threads there, your description of the fault isn't as complete as it could be.

For example, where is the noise coming from?

It's likely coming from the back left corner when he turns on his back light, mine does the same thing. I haven't searched for the problem yet, but I think its a ground issue or fuse.

I think the sound is coming from the screen.

Invertor dying possibly, read up and you'll find some info.

Most of the threads are about the MPC60, but the 3000 can suffer the same issues.
