I'm never adverse to helping people out, quite the opposite.

What I'm adverse to is people making condescending comments like yours after they've been given help.

Particularly when the issue could have been figured out by using common sense, based on absolute basic knowledge of a product that you actually own, irrespective of whether you own the cables or not.

Or by looking in the manuals, which are available online

I've never looked in an MPD manual, but it probably covers using it as a MIDI controller
