compression and reverb? I've got an alesis 3630 compressor and im thinking of buying either an mx200 lexicon reverb processor or just using plug ins, but they are SOOO many plug ins, im having a really hard time choosing + i cant see spending more for plugs than some hardware like a processor or another compressor

so, what are some of you alls favorite OR most RELIABLE plug ins, mainly compressor, reverb and delay?

right now im using all free plug ins....RoughRider compressor, stock reverb and delay for sound forge and then i use UpStereo for stereo imaging,,if you wanna call it that lol

This is my favorite suite for years now.

I've concocted killer channel strips (imo) within this suite, mix, sprinkle serve your own according to your taste, lol.

I use Guitar Rig for most of my basic processing... I've always liked its modular way of layering effects, and the convolution reverb gets the job done. For dedicated EQ and compression I still use PSP, Izotope, Sonnox, Waves etc. Vintage Warmer has been my 'go to' compressor for years though.

nothing. straight 2 track shit outa the mpc! lolz!

for real tho, i've been liking the waves bundle i have, waves ssl channel,
or the ssl pack i have, drum strip and the compressor.

I don't know, but that waves ssl channel pretty much does it for me with everything. i likes to keep it simple getting it mostly how i like out of the mpc, but that ssl channel has pretty much everything i want and need - eq and compressor.

edit: wow, as i wrote this post i saw an ad up top for this : http://www.waves.com/lp/mpx/index.html? ... 5QodkAxYpQ

looks interesting.

For compression I use Voxengo crunchessor, really good for drums. Or sometimes, the classic compressor.

and acustica's nebula for eq,.... nothing comes closer to a magic bullet, and i'm still only using the free version.

throw an instance on every track and it all starts to sound like music.

Slate Digital apparently make some good stuff... Sound on Sound are raving about their VCC plugin for example.
