I've spent hours trying to figure out how to load a new OS onto a MPC 1000, to no avail. Right now it is operating on the original AKAI 1.07 OS. I've tried everything I can find online, and am thinking either I'm missing some basic key element, or have a faulty MPC.

These are the steps I've taken thus far:

1.) Formatted 2 different Compact Flash discs and loaded various OS .bin files into the main folder. I've tried it with JJ OS 3.11, JJ OS 3.12, and AKAI OS 2.13.

2.) Inserted the CF disc, pressed the WINDOW button, then turned on the MPC while keeping the WINDOW button held down.

3.) Removed the CF disc, pressed the WINDOW button, then turned on the MPC while keeping the WINDOW button held down.

4.) Inserted the CF disc, pressed the WINDOW button, turned on the MPC, then let go of the WINDOW button.

5.) Removed the CF disc, pressed the WINDOW button, turned on the MPC, then let go of the WINDOW button.

6.) Attempted to manually load the .bin file by pressing MODE, hitting Pad 2, selecting the .bin file and pressing F6 (DO IT)... nothing happened.

I've tested all the buttons to ensure they work properly (they do). I'm really at my wits end; any suggestions or recommendations will be INCREDIBLY APPRECIATED!!! You can either respond in the forum or email me at jonpaul2244(at)gmail(dot)com.

I've also created 2 videos giving a quick overview of what I've been attempting; they can be found at the following links:

Part 2 is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUg295c8o5A

THANK YOU!!! :D :D :D
