Best way to sync an acapella to a track??

Usually Ill just play it in serato in time to the track, I tried dropping it in to abelton along with the track, is it just a matter of adjusting every section so that it fits right or is there a better way?

In Ableton, I'd say the best way is to chop it up into each verse and chorus section where possible, or at least slightly larger chunks, then fine adjust each by adding your own warp markers to make sure the words fall correctly.

I've found that if you simply throw the whole thing in there doesn't usually work too well.

In all honesty mate, I don't think you'll get much easier than warp markers and stretching in Ableton. It's just a case of being patient and doing it in manageable chunks.

We're lucky living in these days of DAWs and mega-processing power.

I chopped it into 29 bars but when I do this I cant seem to see the audio wave that I need to adjust the points, all I see is the red bars, any suggestions?

If you double click the block you want to edit you should select it, and it will appear at the bottom of the screen.

If I double click on the block it just deletes it

Ok now the dj krush- mesio remix as now become the dj shadow - scale it back entry competition remix, if only I could get the damn acapella to sync, how about something like soundforge would that be of any help??

At least a basic vocal melody is a lot simpler then a 16 bar rap verse

Is it way off of the instrumentals tempo?
If its just a lil bit I would leave it complete and just pitch or timestretch it a lil bit.
If you set the start of the acap. in sync and then switch to the middle or end of it you'll hear how it is out of sync and therefore how to pitch (- or +). Its something that take a lil time first time you do this but after a few times it gets really easy. Hint: pitch small values. A change of -5 cents on a 97BPM acapella will result in a 96.8 BPM acapella. This is probably enough. Depends on how off the acapella is to the instrumental.
Switch checking the start and the end of the acapella and if both is in sync you dont need to care about the middle.

You do really. Just because the 'pella is in time, doesn't mean it is structurally correct for the rest of your tune.

Sorry but this warping thing is a complete pain in my hole, If I were to play the acapella on serato with the bpm mixed and the start point on time the rest plays on time start to finish, in abelton I got the start point correct, the bpm correct but it goes of time on the 3rd bar

Ok, thought I was getting the hang of it, abelton automaticaly sets triangles at points where the audio needs to be moved a little bit, so when I moved the triangle to the nearest 16th note the triangle becomes a yellow box, is this correct???
So for the first verse of the chorus this was working out pretty well but later on I moved the triangle to nearest 16 note but when I do this it moves every triangle on the grid and there are no longer any yellow boxes
