Sampling static

I have a problem with static when im sampling, at first i thought it was my old shitty mixer, but then i got a new one and im still getting alot of static.

Try turnin the volume down some on your input device.

I've tried all the obvious things, but the problem i think is in the hookup, even in the turntable is off and the volume is completley off theres still a static hiss in the sampling mode.

have you tried different cables?

try turning up the volume out on the mixer, and turning the recording gain down?

Static is on records. If you don't like static, get CD players.

na son i aint talkin bout static on the record. Theres this staticy sound before i even put the needle down when in samplin mode

Oh sorry dog. Sounds like a bad (loose/dirty) connection somewhere. Troubleshoot by taking different things out the signal chain mixer/cables/Turntable. Make shure the headshell connection is clean.

another thing to remember is to not lay chords perpendicular to each other. As this causes some hum.

also get balanced chords.

try not to use "adapters" i have bought chords that have rca to 1/4" that require no adapter, that way i can have my turntable directly to my mpc.

If you use a mixer, you can still use these chords.

make sure you use the rec out on the mixer to go to the mpc.

some tables have a built in preamp, so you need to switch the line level to phone (on the table) so that it matches with the inputs of the mixer.....use phono on the mixer.

use grounded cables.

try a grounded power surge bar, they sell some that get rid of hum. as lots of hum comes from the power outlet.....example: if you got the microwave and washer machine running at the same time as your mpc.

check your needle connections as it might not be as secure as it should be to the arm.

make sure the the "ground" wire on the rca cables coming from the turntables are appropriatley grounded, this should be the first thing to check

static is dope dirrty

If you're using a ZIP drive keep the cables and power from it away from all your audio cables. If not you'll get some feedback or a subtle "hum" in your samples you might not hear until you take the music into a prof. lab
