I'm glad Akai ditched the design of the 60 II and ran with a design closer to the original 60 for later MPCs.

like a dream come true getting the 60, got "as is" for $233, floppy works as well. Running 2 assignable outs to the sp303 for effects proccesing, the rest to the sound card and soon have it midi'd up to the 4k as a slave.

The 60ii is ugly IMO which is crazy because the original 60 is a thing of beauty. I kinda like that it only has 13 seconds of sample time, gonna make me get super creative.

Man you coming up on some finds, like Christmas has come early for you.

MPC60 OG with a decent backlight, floppy and the Linn OS for how much???

I wish I was in the US sometimes, MPC's are almost a dime a dozen for y'all...

Congrats.

Bought this today for 700 bucks... condition almost like new, everything working!

It's running OS 2.12 and doesn't have the memory expansion, but i still think it was a good deal regarding the condition of the machine... :)

Thanks! I've never seen a 60 for sale around here, so i guess i was just lucky.

I've started using it this weekend... the only bad thing is a little dust somewhere in the volume pot (can hear it sometimes when adjusting the volume), but it doesn't affect the playback once it's adjusted. Everything else works flawlessly! I already fell in love with the workflow, limitations... and last but not least, the sound of it!! :D
