i have a choice of getting a pair of ns10s(think theyre a matched pair) for $400 or event 20/20bas v2s for $430...i see ns10s in every studio as well as the events but i can only get one for now....im leaning to the events slightly because they go for over $800 everywhere but the ns10s are classics for being horrible sounding speakers yet good "translators"so which ones should i get yall?

Get the 10's and a good amp. If positioned right you will get much better mixes from them, especially if you are just starting out. I have NS-10 and 20/20's, and If I had to sell a pair it would be the 20/20's, there is some weirdness to them, but the 10 really let you peer into the mix. And that's with my 20/20's in a better hearing position than my NS-10's and I still turn to them. Lucky I got them mad cheap.

I would get the Events. ns10s are great for checking mixes, but not very easy on the ear. If they're going to be your only monitors, and you'll do a lot of long beatsessions i would not recommend them.

yes, they are in every studio but most people only use them to check mixes and use normal monitors 90 % of the time.
