Need An Mpc

ok i've been looking everywhere for a good mpc in LA but no luck yet. All the guys who are selling theres want more than 800 for a stock mpc which i do not believe should be paid more than 750. also how do you know when you need a new screen for the mpc? and about how long do they usually last?...thanks

ps: if anyone knows where i can get a good used mpc 2000xl in LA or is selling one hit me up ...peace

Look if you want a mpc ill sale you mines for a gee and it comes with full ram a internal zip drive and the 8 outs. Ill even give you my usb zip drive and about a gig and a half of samples(from drums to live instruments to keyboard sounds). I know you aint gona rock that so ill keep it myself. O yea get ya self a brand new one and do the numbers of how much its gona cost you in the long run to get what i just offer you.

That may have been true 6 months ago, but it is certainly not true now. Supply of Akai gear in the US is scarce. Enough so to drive up the 2nd hand prices.

i paid 750 for a used stock 2000xl se 3 a couple of weeks back ... keep searching and you shall find

found one already
mpc 2000xl, 8 outs, max memory, 100 meg internal zip drive , in mint condition (only 6 months old) got it for 850...got a good deal

If you can find a cheap ASR10 try that also. The MPC is a good machine, but it's like sampling for dummies. My pet dog can program drums on it. The ASR has a more natural feel for drums etc... if you learn how to use it properly. That's why NOTTZ, Alchemist, Xtra P, Jake One and the rest use an ASR10. I own both, and I tend to use the MPC a bit more now because I looping drums, but when it comes to programming the MPC isn't as smooth as the mpc2000. I know a few of my friends traded, and then had to sell the mpc and buy the asr10 again because the drum programming is too stiff on an MPC. Of course, I'm assuming you're not quantizing to 1/16 like an idiot
