My Updated Setup [Pic Heavy]

This is a response to Scoobylol in this thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=149188 who wanted to see my setup. So, here it is.

My MPC 60 is not included as it's in box under the desk. The SP1200 and the MPC 60 are put away in safety after I use them. I like to preserve them as much as possible. Also, some of gear isn't wired up, I've had to destring the stuff to hook in the midi patch bay, and the Tascam US-1800. I got rid of the mixer and replaced it with the Tascam. I also have a guitar and some mics not in the picture.

Note: The spider in the tank is a Six Eyed Sand spider. It's deadly. One bite and you either die, or lose a limb. There is no anti venom, but it's secure and safe and is not a defensive spider. Oh, and it can't climb glass.

Amazing equipment in there dude, thanks for the pictures I appreciate it. I love looking at other people's home setups, it's really inspiring to me for some reason. That Darkstar is baaaaaaaaaad. Do I spy a Tenori-on there too? I saw Little Boots use hers at Leeds a few years back and was besotted with her and her gear haha.

At least now we know where you get your money for that lot though. You clearly have a spider that spins cocaine and not web.

Thanks. I've worked hard for it over the past 2 years. My business started going downhill recently so now I'm just enjoying the equipment and working on some music for a couple of years. And yes, the Tenori-on is an amazing bit of gear. Took me ages to get the bottle to spend £800 on it.

Ha! It does look like cocaine. Everyone that sees the tank comes out with "omg that's cocaine". It fools the police anyway, they don't dare put their hand in that to check it.

Should have waited and got the Tenori-on Orange, it's a relative steal at £200-ish. Or so it seems, I haven't actually read up on them to be fair.

How is the synthesis capability on it? I'd be half tempted by the Orange if I didn't see it more as a toy.

Well, the Tenori is pre loaded with sounds. There is no synthesizer or sampler on it. But the sound possibilities are infinite. Use it as a midi controller and you're firing on all cylinders lol!

According to this there is sampling, so I assume you trim samples externally then pop them onto the SD card for sequencing with the lovely lights?

I suppose by synthesis capability I really meant, how much control do you have over the sounds that are loaded onto it? Is most of the editing of tones or whatever done via the software?

I'm sort of slightly half tempted to look out for one if I could get it for a bargain price, just for the sake of experimentation. £200 doesn't seem a ridiculous price if there's some sort of control of the sounds.

Oh, sorry, by sampling I meant like the MPC pad style chopping etc.

She is amazing on the Tenori-On. I'm trying to find my favourite video of the tenori.

I'd recommend going into a store and testing one. Go in daily for a few weeks. That's what I did.

She's immense. I've got a very soft spot for her, in fact I need to get in the Official Beautiful Women thread before I forget.

Unfortunately there's nowhere near me that stocks them. I had a feeling Dawsons might, but apparently they don't. Useless.
