Any ex Cool Edit Pro / Current Adobe Audition users?

I still use Cool Edit Pro.

Im STILL rockin CEP too guys. Its by far, hands down, the easiest and best audio editing software. I use it to chop my samples most of the time. The waveform editing is so intuitive and quick for chopping samples up. I dont think I will ever completely stop using it. I made my whole drum library chopping breaks up in Cool Edit...

old skool cep user here, i used it as my first mp, before i was a dj, before i knew what a sequencer was.. doin remixes n mash ups haha...

audition was never as good, it may have looked a little nicer but i cant see any better function to it.. and it was a mad cpu hog.

logic is an awesome seqeuncer, ans a shit wav editor.. i guess thats why it comes with soundtrack pro, which is probably the closest thing to cep there is.

i used to use it still last yr for normalizing and stretching samples thru parallels on my mac.. my preferred tool now is soundtrack pro. but im comfy with pt now so im good..


LOL @everyones copy of cep licensed to peter quistgard or something....

audition 2 n 3 were not cpu efficient

but 1.5 was the best combo isthe simplicity of cool edit with the functions of a modern daw.



that shit u said about logics audio editing is why i aint moved, though have heard good things about studio one

AA 1.5 is running without any problems on my Athlon XP2400 (1,9 GHz / 1 GB RAM)

Reaper has a great sequencer and its pretty nice for editing if you use the macros. Still CEP is my #1 choice.. Reaper's time stretching feature is the best out there tho.

I use CEP for chopping breaks... I think nothing beats CEP combined with a mouse-wheel for this task. But thats actually the only thing i use it for. Oh, and for converting WAV to 320kbps MP3s.
