I want to be able to use the pads on my 4000 to trigger drums and percussion sounds on the Motif XS. Is there a quick/easy way to map pads so that pads 1-16 (left to right/top to bottom) are mapped to keys 1-16 (started with the first key) on the XS, with the same configuration on each bank until I get all 88 keys mapped? Again, I want to be able to play to play percussion from the MPC. If there's a quick and easy way to do this please let me know.

Thanks

no there is not

you have to do it manually on the pad assign page.

make sure you save this program and then you can use the assignment of pads in future programs

indeed, arkyve brings up a great point.

the default pad setting might serve you well if you learn to use it.

What you want to do is set up the track as a instrument track on the MPC and turn it to the channel that you want to use lets say in Pattern Mode you want to use Hip Hop Kit 1 on TRack 1 and Rock Kit on Track 2...You set the Out 1 on the MPC to whatever corresponding port you have the Motif plugged into and then you select which channel you want to use so if you wanted Track 1 in the MPC to trigger the Hip Hop Kit on Track 1 in the Motif you set the channel to 1 now if you want the Rock Kit to be triggered on Track 2 of the MPC you set the Channel to 2 and select Track 2 on the Motif...Hope that helps...I have a Motif XS6 myself...Nice combo.
