anyone buying direct from ex scsiforsamplers.com guys? feel free to PM me details if so.

BADLY want internal for the 3000 and ASR10 KB, but not confident enough to do it myself without kit.

was going to sell my spyrus (which I can't even use on 3000 without 3.5 OS, which is ALSO currently not available), but now I'm going to hang onto it in case all other options vanish.

shish, one problem people with newer MPCs don't have  oh well...

I think JD mentioned that he was keeping a small amount of kits around, would definitely be worth seeing if he still has some up for grabs.

Im, in the UK too, there are SCSI card readers on ebay all the time.

Internal and/ or external for around £70-80.

If it's an external, just take it out of the enclosure with a little DIY and few parts it will become internal.

what do you make of this one?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SCSI-internal ... 3cbe71aa91

recon it'll work with NON 3.5OS MPC3000? it includes YAMAHA V769970 scsi to ide bridge.

anyone ever seen an external OR internal hotswapable CF that will work with 3000 WITHOUT 3.5OS ? am thinking a non hot swappable one might be a PITA.

@Clint. I tried one of those card readers you linked to with my MPC60 (os 3.10) but it wouldn't work. The seller said it might be because I used a removable CF card and not a "fixed" one.

I should be getting one of the readers Seed78 has linked to sometime in the coming week. Will let yous know how I get on.

The seller seems fine. Good customer service, etc.

cool! def let us know how you get on.

I'm bit worried about getting the internal and then not having it work and holding out for a working one while the 3000 has half its guts hanging out!

if I can't get hold of any ex scsiforsampers.com guys I might go the external route.

did you get it, or did it turn out to be from the same seller

this lack of CF for 3000 is annoying...

I've tried PMing the scsi for samplers dude but the message just sits in my outbox - if anyone has known current email address for him please let me know - he seems to be the leading authority on this stuff, don't really want to get a drive elsewhere, fingercrossed he hasn't got shot of all his stock.

if only I had 3.5OS I could use my external spyrus at least... 3.5OS and internal OR external CF drives not being available make me feel like throwing my toys out da pram > waaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I got one of http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SCSI-internal ... 3cbf0cd721

But I'm waiting for an enclosure to arrive.
According to the thread here viewtopic.php?t=68300 it takes 2 adapters, a gender changer and a SCSI cable that accomodates two drives to fit an internal card reader and still the have SCSI port on back of the MPC.
I decided to put the card reader inside an enclosure as it's less messy ,I can keep my floppy drive, the enclosure costs about the same as all the adapters and I can use the card reader with other samplers.

I suspect the Yamaha bridges are working fine and it's jpacs card reader or something that is at fault as MPCHunters website is saying the Yamaha bridge should work and he doesn't seem the sort to be publishing spurious data.

When the enclosure arrives I'll be hooking it up straight away and will let yous know if it works or not.
