Pre Amp

I read on here that when sampling into an mpc from a turntable you do not need a pre amp. Just crank the gain and it will be clear. Is this true?

nuff said, figured so. If i buy a cheap pre amp am I goin to see a major drop in quality or not so much? (my budget is soo tight right i gota hassle the internet instead of just buying a pre amp and trying it. Sorry)

it shouldn't, maybe best to find a used dj mixer online or something, but a stand alone phono preamp should destroy the quality.

Or get a turntable with a phono pre-amp built in.
