I really like using the beat repeat for sketching down quick ideas however holding down the tap temp/repeat button is a pain and takes up a valuable hand. its also a blagg when you accidentally press it twice and mess up your tempo

would it be possible to have a mode that disables the tap tempo and holds the beats repeat like a toggle switch and still keeps the repeat note value menu on screen? you could then have two hands free for note/beat entry and the also switch note division on the fly

I'd also like mono playback separately for each of the four pad groups rather than global for the whole machine. As the MPC doesn't have lights on the pads its hard to tell which one is playing if your doing loops on the fly but in mono playback mode this is too much of an issue however I'd like to play more sounds this way so splitting the mono playback over the four pads groups would make it x4 better :)

goto MODE + PAD 10 -> MISC tab -> switch TAP TEMPO to OFF

in MAIN screen press SHIFT + TAP TEMPO/NOTE REPEAT button: NOTE REPEAT is now locked on.

I suggest F2 enable > To pad.
and F1 enable to mute MODES and SET.

I got 2 totally unrellated ones here.
I would like to see the track change shortcut to work one handed. You know when you hit MODE, it flashes and then you usually hit a pad. But track change shortcut makes you HOLD the MODE button and turn DATA wheel. I request that we can have it toggle on and so i can use shortcut one handed. So hit MODE and when its flashing i turn DATA wheel it will change track, nad hit MODE button and stop it flashing when finished.

WAVEFORM PHASE INVERT. Make it an edit function in the Sample edit window of course. Just I have no idea how hard this idea is to impliment, but I cant see it being overly complicated as it seems simple as its data values being negative to positive, positive to negative. Its needed. And I am sure alot of you here would dig it right?

in LOOPer Mode some additions to Keep as sample window:

Program, Mode and Group fields to set the behavior of the sample.

(same options would also be good in the RECORD mode)

and if doing all this would be possible without stopping the sequencer.... :!:

Requesting DELETE key back in MIDI grid edit view when not playing. Cut and paste is good but Sometimes you dont want to overwrite you clipboard if all you want to do is delete one note. Yes you can hit overdub and edit note, say reduce velocity to zero, but still note is present. If you use main grid view delete it can be bad as even though you can get it to erase one tick it is almost impossible to see what your deleting. There is space there on F1, in the MIDI grid Edit window that would be the perfect place for it.
Its ok as far as drum programs go as you can just use LoopEdit button and hit pad, but still Delete function here as well would be better.

Pad with assigned PATT/CC/PC and SIMULT

Right now if you have SIMULT assigned to a pad and you change it's behavior to CC/PC/or PATT, SIMULT ceases to function.

Skillet wrote:workaround: copy, seq edit -transpose for that pad, then paste back the original. but it would be cool if paste transposed based on where the cursor is on the grid.

Clever.

do not know if this has been mentioned before.
You will have noticed it:

trim mode
press F6 (edit)
go with jog wheel to timestretch and / or pitch shift edit screen.
press down cursor to go to preset box.

There are 54 types for choice in this box.

(x2 = time stretch + pitch shift) = 108 types of logarithms differents ( memory! )

we would have 108 lines of code written different for almost anyone to know or use or talk about their differences.
personally, I say:
the most users only use the same forever.
I would need to show me an example with this (audio or video or ... bringing light into this I see absurd).
sorry and thanks for your atention.

PAD preview in LOAD mode

in the LOAD mode F4 is empty. Would be cool to have a pad-preview button, when you press and hold it you can hit the pads and hear the assigned samples. Makes composing drum kits (programs) easier and faster.
