@jibber

Is that Expedit from ikea? the thing you've got your 500 and Microkorg and records stored in (i presume it is cause im looking at them to buy) just wanted to know, is it a solid enough unit to have a MPC 2000XL & a turntable on and be used without it falling apart? also very sick lab, i think it's one of my favorites yet... well atleast the most suited to how I'd have mine (if i wasnt broke)

Yeah, it is. And yes, it's stable enough don't worry. It's one of the few ikea products that are good and will hold up over the years! I once had the 2000XL on top of it while playing the pads, no stability problems whatsoever. :wink:

Thanks for the comments everyone! I just like to sit on the floor, on my couch... and make music. It's not the most practical setup for sure, but it gets me into the right mood usually. :)

My updated setup, still waiting on my Kurzweil to come out of the shop, and I"m in the market for better desks to fit everything on but you get the idea

MPC 60 SP303, table and mixer in the background, and to the right is my r3 and firestudio project

Another angle including the 4k, above it is an old tv and vcr I use to pull samples from

The Setup as a whole, The only things I wanna add is a presonus studiolive 24.2 or 16.4, this Roberts reel to reel I've been waiting on and thats it. The 3k is in my "work room" still being customized.

Looking good there Arkyve.

You are keeping the 'Beast' right?

Or have you been seduced by the OG MPC60?

Have you considered building your own customised desk?

I dunno, I keep going back and forth on selling the 4, I'll probably keep it flip the 3 and the kurzweil and then be done. I'm seriously thinking of building my own desk, I'll see how I feel when I'm done with the 3, may just go buy one so I can get back to just focusing on music

I probably wont change anything up on the r3 as far as cosmetics go.

I couldn't get any work done with that setup and getting desk is out of the question for a while so I got all o.c.d. and re-arranged it for 100th time, this is how its staying till I get the desk thing solved.

btw the signal flow or whatever is like this, r3 midi's going to 4k midi in 1 and midi out b, 4k midi out a is going to the 60, the 60 midi is going to the sp 303, I've tuned the pads so the 4k can trigger the 60 and 303 by flick of the pad banks, the 4k is obviously the master which is also running midi out c to the presonus's midi in to sync with Reason 6. The SP 303 has no input other than the Number 1 assignable out of the 60, I'll only use it to re-sample for fx processing or if the sample time in the 60 is low I'll dump my chops as loops to it. Then the mains on on the 4, 60, and 303 all have separate tracks within the daw and so does the r3

my studio is pretty much a dump... I straighten everything up and within a few days there's bottles and full ash trays everywhere (I aint even drinking and smoking really haha.. but you know how it goes) not to mention I have on going renovation still happening down here so I have stuff piled around from the rest of the rooms on this floor.

my main "desk" is a long table that is built with a one inch pressed wood plank (it has the white melamine finish... ) as the surface, but held up on a pine 2x6 frame with pine 4x4 posts... it was 8 feet long but I shortened it to 6... the damn thing can support probably a thousand pounds if not more but I aint even close to that amount of weight...
