What's up ppls? Just a quick question...Now before I explain I have:

-made sure my midi was connected correctly
-checked FL Studio manual
-checked tweakheadz and beatdynasty for info
-checked mpcforums for info
-exhausted all possible options

Now all I'm trying to do is figure out how to sequence FL with the MPC. I checked past posts and it's hinting at the topic but I really didn't catch a direct answer. I can record on track 1 MIDI 1B and it's fine, move to track 2 MIDI 2B same sound. I use the MPC to sequence Reason and Cubase and I use this method no problem. So I guess basically what I'm saying is I know how to set everything up can anyone tell me what are the specific settings you select in FL Studio to treat it as a sound module as well? Thanks in advance

im only familiar with using reason as a soundmodule. There u have 16 midi channels 1a,2a,3a etc.
try finding out how u can switch midi channels in FL. Im not even sure if its possible..

I've tried this with Reason and it works but I know there is a way in FL Studio but I have had no success as of yet using fl studio as a sound module. I even tried routing the VST ports to 1 in & out. Also tried routing the VST to MIDI OUT channel and inputting the midi out channel to 1 and no data/midi is being recorded into the MPC JJOS 3.12. My hook up is MIDI keyboard midi cable out to MPC 1000 in. MPC1000 out to Pro Tools 001 interface in. Fl Studio send master sync port 1. MPC track is set to MIDI and on 1A.

Only thing I been able to do correctly is track out tracks to pro tools. Anyone did this right?

I dont know if this will work, but see if you could route it in the fl studio mixer. I have never done that before. maybe later I will take a look and see if I see the way.

yeah except he wants to sync fl studio to his mpc...

as far as i understand it. and please correct me if im wrong, but i believe that fl studio will not act as a slave thru midi. it is master only

which technically means that the mpc becomes a pad controller, fl does not act as a sound module thru midi.

well you may be able to because you can use fl studio as a VST pluggin launched within other applications

ok thats fine, but its also a whole nother can of worms. the original post is not asking about rewire, fruity wrapper,or fl vst.

using fl as a standalone daw, i don't think it can be linked to an mpc as a sound module and sequenced with the mpc

in that case what does "linking fl studio as a sound module" mean? that makes absolutely no sense at all... how does fl studio even resemble a sound module (besides the fact that it can be ran stand alone or as a vst.. hint hint)

ok i understand what your saying but if you are running fl vst thru cubase or another daw, then technically you are syncing cubase with the mpc?

don't get me wrong, im not trying to argue with you, as i've never used fl and an mpc in this way so i really don't know, but i do know that you cannot control fl standalone with the mpc's sequencer.

yes you can.. absolutely you can..

I just tried it on the mpc 2000 classic (i could try it some other time with the 60)

on the main screen... (while you have the midi cable going from midi out A to the midi input on your interface)... right under track 1 (tr:01-TRACK-01) there is something that says "DRUM:OFF" and you turn the jog to "DRUM:1A" ... that right there lets you use the pads to play the selected intrument (regardless of what it is) in fl studio...

to control the sequencer in fl studio you can not do that with simple midi as the transport in fl studio is controlled by MMC only.. therefore in the midi screen (on the 2000/2000xl you push shift+9 for the midi menu) and in the sync out area you switch "send MMC" from off to on... push the play button and fl studio's sequencer is now being controlled by the mpc.

hmm i will have to try this when i get home, i'm under the impression that fl studio cannot be the slave to mpc, and works as master only.

in google search I put in "how to sync fruity loops" third topic from the top reveals

akaipro wrote:Fruity Loops only outputs Sync. It does not receive

Fruity Loops as Master, MPC5000 / MPC2500 / MPC1000 / MPC500 as Slave
Note: Fruity Loops only outputs Sync. It does not receive.
Connect a MIDI cable from an available MIDI OUT of your MIDI interface to an available MIDI IN on your MPC.

Using MIDI Time Code (MTC) & MIDI Machine Control (MMC):
On MPC5000 / 2500:
Go to the MIDI/Sync menu.
Set "Sync In" to the corresponding MIDI input port on the MPC.
Set "Mode" to "MIDI Time Code."
Set the Tempo of the MPC sequence to match that of your Fruity Loops session.
In Fruity Loops:
Go to the Options Menu > MIDI Settings or press F10 on your keyboard.
Under the Output section, choose the device port of your MIDI interface to which you have connected the MIDI cable to the MIDI IN on your MPC.
Enable "Send Master Sync."
Select the Synchronization Type "MTC 30 fps."
Close the Preferences window.
Press Play. Your MPC will now play in-sync with Fruity Loops.
Using MIDI Beat Clock & MIDI Machine Control (MMC):
On MPC5000 / 2500:
Go to the MIDI/Sync menu.
Set "Sync In" to the corresponding MIDI input port on the MPC.
Set "Mode" to "MIDI Clock."
Set "Receive MMC" to "ON."
On the MPC500:
Go to the MIDI/Sync menu.
Press Mode + PAD 7.
Turn the data wheel to display "Sync."
Press the DOWN cursor.
Use the data wheel to change the sync mode to "Slave."
On the MPC1000:
Go to the MIDI/Sync Menu:
Press Mode + PAD 9.
Sync [F2].
Sync In: 1 or 2 (whichever MIDI input you plugged your MIDI cable into).
Sync Out: Off.
Select the Synchronization Type "MIDI Clock."
Close the Preferences window.
Press Play. Your MPC will now play in-sync with Fruity Loops.
