Just bought an MPC 2000 for the LOW LOW

Today I saw a Roland TR-727 in Guitar Center here in Las Vegas for $300. Thought long and hard about getting it and circuit bend the fk out of it for some crazy schit. Decided to pass on it though.

is that one the latin sounds one? ^^

yea the 727 is the latin flavor of the 707.

i think 300 sounds too high for that, especially if yer gonna bend it.

same here... but it seems like 300 is around what people charge for those.. the 707, and the drumatix as well lately...

you are better saving the money until you have enough cash to buy it in one shot... then scout for a deal...

you saw what I payed... that was on ebay top it off... they dont come often those deals which is why you need the cash ready for when it happens. People with cheap prices dont wait till you can pay in cash.. right?

the pad fix is gonna run you $70 on average, so you're paying over $300 for a mpc 2000 which is a rip if you ask me, unless you get it with a scsi zip and a USB zip included i wouldn't pay neer 300.

Good news is you could rip the screen out and get every dollar back out of the 2000. or what i would do is find a 2000xl that has a shot screen and pay $100 for the XL and put your 2000's screen in there and then you have yourself an XL for $350 which is a good price, and you have a better model

I just wanted to say that the 2000 is not a bad machine to have and at those prices thats nothing to those of us who spent something like 2500 and better when they first came out!! sure that was like 13 years ago for me but even though i switched to the MV/8000 then 8800 some years back I still use my MPC and will never part with it!! Sometimes i notice a lot of folks hating on it especially when they released the 2000 XL but for me at that time the 2000 was just fine and after that investment i wasnt about to change LOL... I agree that the XL came with more features and the tilt screen was nice but if you can cop a 2000 for under 300 bucks thats a steal broken button /pad etc.. those are both easy fixes these days!! I wonder why they are so cheap? because its not the eqipment you have its how you use it!! just imagine if some of your favorite PRODUCERS had that technology back in the day? and I do mean prior to 1985 when most of that was done on Linn drums Rolands Farilights etc.. as compared it was like doing it by hand and they made dope records that rival and exceed most of todays recordings IMHO... by the way you can get those drum machines for cheap but most of the time unless someone says thats what they use they only people who cop those are the folks who couldnt afford them when they were younger and buy them (just like an SP) just to have wether you actually use it or not!! I know cause im that dude hahaha SP/ASR X PRO etc...

just wanted to add I copped an XL from this kid in Brooklyn for 200 with a bad screen fiixed the screen and made a nice profit on it!!! somes i wish i would have kept it but I dont want to look like Armens LOL!!
