Open .pgm-files in DAW? Is it possible?

Hi!

I have an MPC 2000 Classic and I want to open my .pgm-files in my computer.

Is this possible? Any awesome software that does this? Any DAW that does this?
Is it even theoretically possible?

I have googled, didn't find anything interesting except one software compatible with the MPC 1000. So I have hope, but not much.

What do you guys know about this?

So there is no way for me to load a .pgm-file in my computer and also play it in the computer? Just modify and then back in the MPC?
