so did you just sort of stumble into that jingle/composing thing?
I would love to break into the industry or just make some extra cash working at a jingle house.

Actually its kind of a long story but a good lesson in how good networking can open up crazy doors for you in other areas...
About 4 years ago this company called Eyeball NYC http://www.eyeballnyc.com did a series of shorts on young DJs for SHONext, which is Showtime's Gen Y network on digital cable/satellite. They did one of them on me, and the director and I Alex became friends and stayed in touch. He told me about how he did some music for broadcast through Eyeball, and how easy it was. I told him I was interested and we kept in touch. About 2 and a half years ago Alex told me how he wanted to start a music house through Eyeball that was composed of people who all had unique talent and success in the record industry and had something different to bring to the table and how he wanted me on board. This was right when I moved to NYC. After 3 months nothing had happened so I told him I wanted to help him get things rolling. I came in 2 days a week for 2 months and helped with the marketing and other B.S., then they put me on salary doing marketing work for them. As the company grew, I got more and more work through them on the freelance production tip. Earlier this year my production schedule got way too busy so I told them to take me off salary and just give me production work. I know this is not the typical way for stuff like this to happen but if anything don't discredit your network of peeps, it's 95% of your success.

D, what's a good way to start to get your beats out there....? i know a lot of it is who you know. do you know anything about starting a production company...? does that help in anyway...? and what about a manager...? cause me and my boy got some beat cds about ready to be heard, but trying to get that out there for people to hear. most people...they just want free stuff, and have no talent. so a lot of it is just wasted. you got any thoughts....? if you want, you can hit me up with a PM. thanks yo...
