That's not really the point, I'd rather have the option to edit, layer and sequence everything in the one machine. Before some smart arse says, well ye datz wot da mpc is 4. We all know about the MPCs limitations with polyphony and RAM, what happens if you want to do some really intricate progressive drum track where the analogue parts constantly evovle over 2 or 3 minutes? I personally am far too lazy to sample everything and then re-sequence it, even on the beloved MPCizzle.
Also I don't want to have to re-sample the analogue part two or three times before I've even tracked it into a DAW, I'd like to retain the analogue signal path for as long as possible. I also still want that accessibility and ability to change things quickly and intuitively whilst layering with other samples, just in case they need a bit of tweaking.
I do see your point, the two together would still make a fine team. But just not for me personally.
