So that's all you need: Your tiny little sampler, a cheep turntable and a stereo system?

Yeah, some records. That's where Hip-Hop is from anyway: Records and sampling. That's what I do, you know what I'm sayin'?

The 303 is not the most user friendly machine, but dont get it cos madlib uses it thats dumb.

find a machine that has the features ur comfortable using cos ultimately the machine is not the number one factor that determines the quality of ur beats its how well ur able to manipulate the machine and make it do what u want it to.

yeah exactly.....but if you can flip it like madlib, itll test your skills.

Personally i think it doesnt matter what equipment you use, if you got skills you got skills. And all my knowledge will transfer to any interface.

ive made some great beats using fruity loops......and ive got a mpc, triton, mophatt, px7, and now protools......I can flip it all with or without eachother. And honestly i dont think you can tell between my fruity loops and triton beats (unless you recognize a triton patch)

I just thought it would be cool to really put my skills to the test with a 303, i dont really actually care "if madlib has it" im not thinking of buying it because i wanna be like madlib. im still gonna use my mpc.

I think madlib is cool cause he proves that you dont need equipment to make hot shit.......i mean, you know weve all done it one way or another: gear lust that is. Just like we all think we need the mpc, we should all just be happy with a 303.

peace

I've spoken to him on a few occasions, and he always says it doesn't matter what you use, that's his point, not that the 303 is the illest, it just does the job for him.

He also says he still uses the SP, but that those beatrs don't really get released, on his released stuff it's mostly 303.

yea if you can use fruity loops to make the illness then so be it
