Sampling Prob

I've heard of sampling a bassline out of a song. How would you go about this? Does the track have to have a part with just the bass? Or is their some way to filter other noises outy. PLease give me information. Need to get back to work.

You can use solo bass parts.But it is also possible to create your own bassline by using the low end of a sample.Just filter all the highs out and use the "low end".

use a low pass filter and cut out all the highs till u have the bassline with out the rest of the musci then boost the gain and res till it thumps. I dont use the mpc 2000xl filter for low endin ish cause there is no gain control to compensate for high shelf being gone. I use recycle and eqs on the pc to get it how i like em.

mpc2kxl doesn't have a gain control......you couldn't really be that stupid....lol

yeah it has no gain control in the filter param. it has lo pass and res. There is no gain adjustment to boost a sample in the mpc. U have to record real hot to begin with.

go head. theres the screen in trim where u can do the params and boost it by 100 and main velocity which will not raise the bass to where u need it to get a good low end theroy like dude wants. Oh and u can boost the headroom on the mpc in other, but that will make everything very loud.

Is boosting the res necessary? Or does it just give a more realistic, thumping bass sound?
Also, what is a good program to boost a sample's res and gain?
