First of all, sorry for nagging you with basic questions that im pretty sure alot of newbies come around with these questions.

Anyways, i have recently purchased a mpc1000, and it has been lots of fun making golden age hip hop on it. however the one thing i still need is a bass sound that i still need. Just a simple sine-ish bass would cover all my needs in the upcoming months, so my question is can anybody point me to one? Here is an example of something alike http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Wor56QREv0

I'd go look for one myself but the only form of a computer i have at the moment is a laptop that overheats after using internet explorer for more then 10 minutes. So once again, sorry to bother you guys with this basic stuff but it would really be a great help.

You can download a pure sinewave from various places on the internet.
Put it through some filters inside your mpc and you'll have bass.

If you process a sine wave through a filter, it will simple reduce it's volume, not it's spectrum (sine has no spectrum)

try making basses out of drum hits or pretty much any sound looped REALLY tight. bash a filter and some FX on it, play with the Vol Env then make a pitched program out of it- sorted!
If you want a sine style bass with a few more harmonics to play with than just a pure sine wave try making a bass out of a TR-808/909 kick drum or something- there's plenty of samples of those badboys online!
