STEREO AND PHONES OUTPUTS QUESTION

Hi, I have a simple question about the outputs of my MPC1000, and I will really appreciate your help:

I have my MPC plugged into my M AUDIO monitors with a rca cable from the MPC phones output to the line input of the monitors (the red and white cable), but yesterday I plugged the MPC from the stereo outs to the regular TRS inputs of the monitors and I noticed that the phones output of my MPC is a little stronger and louder than the stereo outs from the back of the MPC.. is that normal? or both phones and stereo outs should sound at the same level? I´m kinda worried because when I´m making beats, I use only the phones output for monitoring but I ALWAYS use the stereo outs for tracking out my work.

Im afraid that my stereo outs are not working 100% good.

A headphone jack is normally amplified as it is required to drive speakers.

The L/R jack are not amplified and are closer to a line level signal that isn't intended to drive speakers... as a result the L/R outputs are likely to have less distortion/artifacts developed on the sound.

Having said that though... if you prefer the sound coming out of the HPJ vs the LR Outputs, no reason not to use it.

It really comes down to how hot of a signal you need to come into the rest of your studio environment and how worried you are about clipping that signal.

Im sorry, could you explain me that part? Did you mean that If I like the sound of the HPJ I should track out my beats from that out and not with de LR outputs? I suck at english, sorry.

All I meant was, pick which ever outputs you think sound best. Regardless of which you think sounds better, the headphone jack or the left and right outputs, as the producer it's up to you to do what sounds best.
