Vinyl gold mine found in Alaska

My friend is stationed in Alaska and told me about a vinyl record collection that was found in a locked room on an Air Force Base:

For a moment, I was hoping someone found a large chest of extremely rare records bunkered in an abandoned gold mine in Alaska. This is cool to though.

I'm wondering what type of DJ/radio equipment they had in that room.
I'm probably showing my age but the military radio stations I've been to back in the day all had Technics 1200's.

AFAIK radio stations often used the Technics SP series too

that is pretty awesome...

but 9,000 records estimated at from $90,000 to $250,000?

that would mean each record is worth from 10 to 27 dollars a piece. I am guessing the figure would be much lower if it was not sorted and complete as it apparently is.

10 grand in packing material to move the collection seems steep.. keep in mind they said packing material and not the entire shipping, packing, handling, and what not.

its not in alaska, type this in google maps and you'll see where its at.

i could see how it could cost alot to ship from there.
