greetings

I want to use one pad to play a sample as NOTE ON, and if I hold my finger on the pad an push it (Aftertouch) I want the MPC to play the same sample but in ONE SHOT mode.

(I don't want to have to keep my finger on the pad till the sample plays back till the end)

I tried using SIMULT:

PAD 1 - Ride sample in layer 1 set to NOTE ON and SIMULT with:
PAD 2 - Ride sample in layer 2 set to ONE SHOT and Aftertouch set to 100. It did not work out. If I hit PAD 1 and push it into aftertouch it does not play the Ride sample on PAD 2.

Anyone know of a solution?

Otherwise there is a crossfade layer function that works with aftertouch but I don't think you can have a note on/ one shot behavior.

I don't use that function but maybe if you set a very long release it could do the trick if the second sample is not too long.

!! actually, that might work perfectly. i haven't used the layer crossfade feature in ages but maybe with simult and some samples of silence you could make this work.

simult pad X to pad Y
on layer 1 of pad X, put your ride sample and set it as NOTE ON
on layer 2 of pad Y, put your ride sample and set it as ONESHOT.

try using the layer crossfade function...you might have to render/use samples of silence to place in the unused layers in X and Y
