hello forum iv got music on my computer then i use as samples. i use a program c alled wavepad sound editor, it chops things up really nice. the main question is after i put the files that ive chopped up onto the mpc its self they were in the sound folders when i went to load up a sample but it didnt play any sound when i tried to hear it when i was in the load window.

all of the files i uploaded were .wav but is there a specific rate the file has to be or what?

any sugjestions would be greatly appreciated

yeah 16 bit..

but dont forget.. you can run an audio cable from the computer into the record input on the mpc... you would in that situation be sampling it into the machine.. (recording it with your mpc sampler) this bypasses sample rates.. and what have you.

Is there any software that converts the audio file into 12bit so I can get that warm sp1200 sound..?

jjos does bit convert. it's destructive, which means it's pre-tuning and pre-filter. this can be used to extremely interesting effect, but it's not as ideal as using a plugin like MDA degrade (part of the EXCELLENT free mda plugin package)
