Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hey guys. I have been having problems with my MPC 500. For some reason it refuses to connect to my windows 7 PC. It doesn't show up. When I plug it in it says installing new hardware, hardware successfully installed. It shows up in the "My Computer" section but not in windows explorer. I need to be able to transfer samples from my PC to my MPC.

Thanks for your help.

mpc500 manual pg 103

Chapter 15 Connecting the MPC500 to
your computer

The MPC500 supports the USB mass storage class. When you connect the MPC500 to a PC that supports USB mass storage class, the PC
will recognize the memory card in the MPC500 as a removable media drive. You can transfer the data between the recognized memory card
and the PC. You can save the data on the memory card to the PC, or you can load the data from the PC to the memory card.
You need Windows 2000/Me/XP or later, or Mac OS 9.x/10.x or later version.

Its the same as importing and exporting pictures or songs to your mp3 player or iPod. The power should be switched ON on the 500 when making the connection. Look at Removable Devices on your PC under My Computer. Don't forget to import and export at [email protected]. Hey, isn't Windows Explorer the internet host?
