I have a s900 and whenever connected via midi to mpc 2kxl it triggers fine 90% of the time but every 3 or 4 notes the s900 does not trigger, also when using the play back button on the s900 to audition the samples back it too will not trigger every few times and gives a static poping sound like its trying to trigger the sample. anyone know what this could be? its makes it so i cant trigger w midi. Any help would be appreciated.

This is normal. Use the mix out for sample editing etc. The MixOut represent every other output so it will play everything.

Also keep in mind that the 900 can only play 8 sounds at a time, so if you play a chord with 3 or 4 notes you can run out of polyphony relatively quick.

peace

@peter thx for the reply, yeah I am using mix out. At first i thought it was a problem with the pb button having like a bad connection or someting ( i know nothing about the inside of the 900), sometimes using this button the playback will play fine and sometimes not at all or sometimes it triggers the sample but with a static sound as you press the button, but i looped a drum break and assigned it so i could trigger it w my xl and it will loop fine like 3 or 4 times then it will miss one and not trigger it. then maybe will pick back up on the next start point or sometimes miss twice, when hitting the pads on the xl it acts just like the pb button ie sometimes works fine sometimes no trigger at all sometimes triggers sound with small static pop as the button is pressed.

Aight, the 0, +, and - buttons on my s3200 suddenly stopped working? Kinda important for keygroups. Any ideas on getting my baby running again?

Try contact cleaner. If that don't work, your tracts are dead. It ain't hard to solder new tracts. Just need a steady hand and some time

I had an issue where my s900 would be working fine, then the outputs would cut out randomly. I searched and found the two threads below. I don't recommend opening up your sampler if you lack experience working with electronics, and soldering, but I had to clean the pins where the cable to the outputs connects the power supply and sort of reheat where the base of the plug connects to the PCB on the power supply board in case there was a cold solder joint. Works now. Not for the faint of heart, but not too bad if you know what you're doing. I sort of am in the middle.

Can anyone recommend a cdrom to use with these old samplers I have one just sitting around and I'm interested in loading up on libraries for it but can't figure out which kind of SCSI Cd drive I need and I'm not trying to pay 125 for one on eBay

Model?

A decent branded SCSI CD-Rom should be fine, and cheap.
