Hi!

I just got my MPC 1000 with 128mb ram (which I upgraded just now) and 2gb CF card.

1. I noticed that the mpc came with only a power cable and I thought the best way to get samples to your CF card was by having the CF card in your mpc and then by usb cable connect to computer and get your samples from there.
I was lucky since I had a usb cable with the right connection but when I connect the mpc (when it's on) to my computer nothing happens.

Is the easiest way for me just to get a CF card - usb adapter?

2. How can I connect my computer speakers to the mpc? They only have a normal 3,5mm connection.
Once again I was lucky that I have a 3,5mm - (the connection which the headphones input has on the mpc) adapter so I can use my headphones in there.
Which is the best way to connect the mpc to speakers? What kind of adapter should i get?

3. I tried to follow a beginners tutorial on youtube around the mpc but I noticed that he was running JJOS 4.99 and I believe I have some Akai original.
Although I bought a mpc 1000 tutorial/guide book from the internet which is pretty good and it seems good and it might be able to help me alot incase I stick with the current OS.
I have no idea which OS I should use.. What's the difference and which one should I use?

Thanks!

1. The easiest way for you is to read the manual all is in there....
CF card can be access thru usb from load/save menu.

2. you can plug the speakers to headphones using 1/8 to 1/4 plug or to the rear stereo outputs using 1/4 plugs to single 1/8...choice is yours.

3. dont worry about OS just yet, you gotta get the basics down first...what's OS gonna do if you dont even know how to use the machine.

good luck
