help with repairs mtl

I recently got a 4k but it needs some repair. Anyone know where I could bring it in montreal to get fixed in house?? I'm going to try Steve's and Moog audio in the morning, but if anyone knows some place for sure I would really appreciate it!!

A lot of people now a days are doing it themselves.
What exactly is wrong with it?

I dont know if steves will do much to it, same with moog... they will probably either send it to akai, or tell you they cant send it to akai because it is a legacy product they no longer support.


hmm, yeah what is wrong with it? depending on the problem, it either might be easy to fix or maybe there is somewhere in the city you could send it..

The problem is the mpc is not giving me any sound output. Also, the mpc will not register any sound or pick up anything when I try and sample in from the turntable. I've hooked up the headphones to try and listen to the metronome click and don't hear anything. The vendor of the mpc told me its "a simple PCB part swap of the output board". The vendor send he'll send me the part needed for the repair and Moog Audio told me that they would be able to install the part or repair the mpc. What do you guys think????

well... if the guy sends you the part, and moog said they can install it... then go that route. I mean, it's the way to do things if you are not comfortable working inside the machine yourself. Honestly, if I had a 4k, I would not let moog do anything before taking a look myself... but that is me and I am comfortable working inside these machines.
