I understand the money you pay is because it is hard to find... But really??
I know I can't afford one, let alone find one.

I found a home made stacked ram option

However! There is no way I am messing with the 60's own pcb(s)

Has anyone come across any home made expansion boards?

I think I am gonna try and make one

I wouldn't do the memory hack either. Some users have reported that if they sample more than 13 seconds (so the expansion memory gets used), they experience some distortion in the samples.

If you look at the sticky thread "MPC Bible", there is a link somewhere to a site called sequentix or something. They have barebone PCB's for sale which you can use to build your own expansion card.

i have heard of people getting good results.. but I have heard about the distorted thing too...

I wouldn't risk it... honestly, you see mkii 60s floating around that come with the expansion but no scsi.. it often comes with 2.12.. keep an eye on ebay.. you can get them for under 500 bucks. you grab that, take out the ram.. resell the machine.

I sell floppy drives for a tenner
I have seen the stitch up prices though!
I think it's disgusting to even attempt to charge that much
