Refurbished from AkaiPro - How good?

AkaiPro has the Refurbished MPC1000 for sale. Has anyone had any experience with it? I would like to know if it has the latest pads and if anyone has seen any issues with it..

There are better deals out there though IMO.

I just bought one in Ebay for $400 and had to return it as it had some parts not working. Now, I am looking for a fully working MPC1000 even if it means paying a little bit more..

honestly you probably shouldve just kept the $400 one and repaired it. if you actually use your machine, you are going to have to repair your MPC one day anyway, or pay way too much $$ for someone else to do it. don't rely on the machine to be invincible - you'll only be disappointed

If that's the case then go for it...I'd see what kind of return policy/warranty they will provide you though.

I received the Refurbished MPC1000 from AkaiPro. It is like new - most probably returned by someone within the 30 days. I was disappointed first, as the screen went blank when I inserted any CF card.

After going through some of the threads in this and other forums, I thought the most probable cause is bent pins. I used a tiny screw driver and straightened the 2 bent pins that I found inside. After that, it is working fine.
