if you have battery 3 and an mpd 24/26/ or 32 could you please check this out for me?

if you have a sample playing/ looping in battery, does the stop button on your mpd stop all notes from playing in battery?

i just found out that you cannot map the Panic button to the fader on my mpd 18, and it looks as though you cannot map the panic button to anything at all, so i was wondering if i had a higher level mpd could this work still?

thanks alot

Panic buttons as far as I have known have to be pressed on the original machine, not controlled via midi.

Controlling a midi panic button via midi......

i see, i was wondering then whats the point of them having a transport on the mpd series then.

i know there is an all notes off midi cc number, its 119 on battery 3, although i have heard that it is also cc #123; but i just cant figure out how to assign it. you may be right though.

anyone else care to shed some light?

thanks

you mean check the manuals of the 26 and see if the transport sends mmc messages?

yes, and how to change it.. even though it is sort of standard as to what button is assigned to what.... but it can be changed.. but also check the battery and the daw MMC command list if there is one because maybe you could set something up!

ah i see, i found out that my mpd 18 doesnt send mmc, but the 26 does, i havent been able to find anywhere where battery 3 can accept mmc messages, my guess is maybe because its not a sequencer, just a sampler, so i think im kinda SOL with them not making the panic button midi mappable.

thanks, and if anyone else that actually has a 26 or 32 and battery could chime in and confirm this that would be cool.

yeah I dont know.. it may have been worth the effort looking into it just the same..

I am guessing you looked at the battery manual or guide? cause in theory it should show some sort of chart of what can be assigned etc... I dunno though.

yeah i looked into the battery manual, and i thought it would have a midi implementation chart as well, but i guess it doesnt which was kinda weird to me.
in other news, i found out that fxpansion geist actually does this thing with the panic button and maps to my fader! they got this deal going on if you buy it before the 31st its only 149.99, after that it jumps back up to 249.99, so im gonna mess around with the demo all day today and see if its worth it 8)
