Great to hear Rohan's OK, although obviously sad that he's going through a tough time.

In my experience his customer service was 2nd to none before and after I bought Valixi. He emailed documents before hand for easy installation and emailed me a few times just to make sure everything was installed ok after I received it (it was) and to give him a shout if I have any problems.

Shame the value of my MPC has probably gone down now though......

nah, just kidding....value means nothing when you have no intention of ever selling, anyone who thought/expressed that should be ashamed...especially when someone close to the community was missing in action, which is so out of character for him, and people were concerned for his safety.

almost finished with my internal compact flash drive installation - then realized I'm only going to be able to see a single 30meg partition on my 780meg formatted flash card when transfered to mac - 3.5OS sorts this problem out so you can see all the partitions.

HA, another reason why zip isn't actually that bad an option  until they die obviously...

I've installed the drive so that I only have the internal and not the external scsi port, at some point I might change that so that I can have an external port too, so can attach a external zip drive to use purely for computer transfering and backing up of samples. But is I had 3.5 OS I wouldn't bother with the external port, access to 780meg of 30meg partitions would be enough for me to back up to harddrive - the 3000's scsi fuse is lame so don't really want to give it too many drives to handle at any one time.

getting the most out of your MPC 3000 is certainly a step by step ongoing project...

I read this whole thread and have no idea who this was directed at. (By the way I don't own an MPC 3000 and was only reading out of interest.)

No-one came across as selfish as far as could read.

Now I could be off the mark here, but if trying to get what you paid for is selfish then I must be from a different planet.

No-one slandered Rohan, in fact many came in to bat for him, and the OP kept it pretty calm. Not getting any contact from someone across the other side of the world who you have given decent coin to is always a stressful situation.

Under the circumstances the people who have been adversely affected kept it pretty cool. There's obviously an unfortunate situation, but a person can only guess when they have had 0 correspondence.

Anyway good luck to all concerned and best wishes to Rohan. Hopefully he can get back on his feet soon.

Glad to know I was the only one who didn't get that comment. I was wondering whether it was me being stupid, but now you've said aswell, I know I'm not the only one.

Whoops! Nevermind man, Rohan is apparently going to show his face soon. He needs to as there must be quite a trail of mess by now.

hope so - gagging for that OS - if I had it I might gut my Spyrus and install it as a internal hotswap CF (currently have internal non hotswap).
