New MPC 2500 SE please help!!!

I've just purchased a new MPC 2500 SE and am having difficulty with activating the mode button. I simply can't get it to light up which of course is very annoying as I cannot load any samples. I'm rather new to the game but surely this button should work regardless? Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

tact switch is gone...it's actually one of tact switches I had replaced couple weeks back. cuz I had to press really hard or angled to get it to work...but it could also be a dirty contact

Thanx for your speedy response dude. I've got it to work now by pushing it down at a different angle so is it gonna be worth me fixing myself or sending this baby back to the supplier? How easy is it to repair?

if it's under warranty let the supplier worry about it...but the fix itself is real easy, just gotta get the casing off, disconnect ribbon cables on the right pcb, de-solder t tact switch solder in new one....i pretty much replaced all tact switches on the right, xept numerical...took about an hour to disassemble, de-solder, solder in new and put together

Thanks a lot you've been really helpful m8. I've also just installed jj os v3.1 and my screen contrast has gone. I can still view the screen but only at an angle. Any ideas?

to change contrast, hold STOP and turn the data wheel to adjust it, then hit main and the setting will get stored.

HAVING LOTS OF PROBLEMS REALLY BUT JUST WANTED TO ASK SOMEONE...WHY CAN'T I HEAR MY METRONOME ANYMORE??? IT'S ENABLED WITHIN THE CLICK PAGE??? ANY IDEAS???
