also is there anyway to make it so i don't have make the skreen darker every time i turn it bak on

go to (mode) pad 11 and change whole program from "note on" to "one shot"

and i tried what ark said, it seems to work some of the time but sometimes it'll make a noise where it sounds like it's playing the first half sekond of the note o\/er and o\/er

I am getting this problem too.. just uploaded JJOS and then weirdness...
Any suggestions? I'd like to make music eventually with this thing not try to figure out why I am getting a strange after-touch trigger on ALL of my sounds. The fix posted above did absolutely nothing for me.

So, guessing this problem is limited only to two users? Seems unlikely fellas!
Still have not found any solution to this but it is driving me nuts... JJOS is
basically the reason I got the MPC. Akai's OS is pretty bad and most of the
tutorial videos (that are actually helpful) are not exactly centered around
the stock OS.

Would appreciate any help y'all... you guys are the MPC-masters after all.

I'll try to help u. Well, u should read a 'Program' chapter in manual about 'overlap'.
There are two settings, one is program overlap (not your problem now), other is 'pad,voice' overlap.
OK, to make it short: u should change voice (pad) overlap to MONO to avoid clashing the same sound. Now it's set to POLY (polyphonic). Do not confuse program overlap (right upper corner of program menu/ with voice overlap at pad menu.
